Someone Has Food Issues

Last night and again today Claude decided to chase Aynee around the house immediately after she enjoyed a cat food snack. It's clear from Aynee's glowering and hissing that she is taking this as Claude saying she is fat. I responded to the situation this morning by feeding them both Pounce cat treats. Was this the wrong approach? Should I have instead sat them down and given them a stern talking to about civility?
